Starbucks Anyone???

Who love Starbucks??? Of course everyone does. So am I! Why am I writing this is because I went to lunch with Michelle yesterday and we went Starbucks. As usual, I always have my favorite green tea latte and I had an egg sandwich. Yum O!

Anyhow, it reminded me of Seattle, Washington. I went to the very first Starbucks store. Yes, THE VERY FIRST STARBUCKS STORE! It’s unbelievable to me. I never ever thought I will ever see it. Never thought I will be in Seattle for my birthday weekend gate away. To my surprised, I found out that Starbucks store was from Seattle. I went online and search to find the location of the store. It took me a while to find it. And I was surprised that it actually located at the Pike Market. Gosh………. We were there the night before. Funny isn’t it?

So, here the tiny bit of the history.

The original Starbucks was opened in Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington, in 1971 by three partners: English teacher Jerry Baldwin, history teacher Zev Siegel, and writer Gordon Bowker. The three were inspired by Alfred Peet, whom they knew personally, to open their first store in Pike Place Market to sell high-quality coffee beans and equipment. The original Starbucks location was at 2000 Western Avenue from 1971-1976. That store then moved to 1912 Pike Place; it is still open. During their first year of operation, they purchased green coffee beans from Peet's, then began buying directly from growers.

History of the logo:

The logo is an image of a "twin-tailed siren" (the siren of Greek mythology).[39] The logo has been significantly streamlined over the years. In the first version, which gave the impression of an authentic 15th century European woodcut, the Starbucks siren was topless and had a fully-visible double fish tail. The image also had a rough visual texture. In the second version, which was used from 1987-92, her breasts were covered by her flowing hair, but her navel was still visible, and the fish tail was cropped slightly. In the current version, used since 1992, her navel and breasts are not visible at all, and only vestiges remain of the fish tails. The original "woodcut" logo can still be seen on the Starbucks store in Seattle's Pike Place Market, and on both the House Blend and Decaf House Blend packaging.

At the beginning of September 2006 and then again in Spring 2008, Starbucks temporarily reintroduced its original brown logo on paper hot drink cups. Starbucks has stated that this was done to show the company's heritage from the Pacific Northwest and to celebrate 35 years of business. The vintage logo sparked some controversy due in part to the siren's bare breasts,[40] but the temporary switch garnered little attention from the media.

And the line is so unbelievable. They just have so much patience for a cup of coffee.

Telephone Car / June Birthday

I have to show you guys what I saw when I was in Seattle. Before I started let me tell you from the beginning of the story. Calvin, Micheal and I was at the café having a tea section as we walked the whole piers to this fabulous restaurant for my birthday dinner as Micheal wanted to treat me as my gift. I’m so grateful to have friends like them.

It was my birthday weekend, and my group of friends had made the plan for me but I can’t even made it for it. Miss my own birthday bash. Anyways, it’s always happen for a reason. I see the reason why it’s happen and I thank god for him to open my eyes once again. He always protected me from being hurt again. So, being in Seattle was a blessed. I been asking God for a short vacation which I really needed one and I got it for my birthday as a gift from a dear friend. I’m so happy to be there and it’s my first time. Seattle was absolutely beautiful and relaxing.

Back to the café thingy, we were busy chit chatting while looking at the space needle. Something caught my eye which is this crazy telephone car. I was so stunt by it and quickly took out my camera as soon as possible from my bag. Thank God it was red light and the car have to stop and it’s like a god plan for it. I manage to take it just before it turned green. Lucky me! Check it our self…….

Anyways, my birthday is not bad as it turned. True friends always a true friends I have to say. If someone really care for that person, there never to late for anything. When we got back, my room mates bought me to Shabu-Shabu as we were graving for that in Seattle. We just can’t miss that to my surprised when I reached home, I got this huge birthday cake from them. It’s really sweet of them. I really thought, no one will celebrate my birthday this year.
Then, my sweet co-workers actually bought me for lunch and treat me. Good Thai food! I was so touch by them as my birthday was past. Then, we have a small gathering at work for June Babies and a Baby shower for my supervisor. I can’t explain how happy I am.
Then, this sweet girl who I always msn everyday. If you reading this, yes I’m referring you! Yes You! I have no idea that she actually wanted to treat me a dinner. I was assuming it was a normal hang out. But thanks babe, it was cheeky of you with the bill and the CAKE! Food was great too……… Garlic Eggplant and not to forget, the curry we made you taste. LOL!
And of course Ivy, Cypress and Herman. They always treated me as part of their family. I’m so grateful to met them. Being no family here is tough for me. Even thought my birthday past a week ago but they still want to celebrate it for me. We went to BBQ Palace for lunch. Yes, we smelled like BBQ for the whole day which we loved it. We spent most of the day together and I had so much fun. To my surprised, I got my favorite JUICY COUTURE necklace. I’d been talking about it for a week about the necklace to Calvin. He never sees me so excited about it. He he he………….I’m still playing with the box.

To the others that I miss. Please forgive me! I can only remember this so far which it was 2 months ago which I should had update it earlier. Those will be my most memorable birthday for 2008. Oh before I forget. Thanks Honey for the gifts…………. YOU'RE THE BEST FOR ME! Without you, I’m nothing………….
