Starbucks Anyone???

Who love Starbucks??? Of course everyone does. So am I! Why am I writing this is because I went to lunch with Michelle yesterday and we went Starbucks. As usual, I always have my favorite green tea latte and I had an egg sandwich. Yum O!

Anyhow, it reminded me of Seattle, Washington. I went to the very first Starbucks store. Yes, THE VERY FIRST STARBUCKS STORE! It’s unbelievable to me. I never ever thought I will ever see it. Never thought I will be in Seattle for my birthday weekend gate away. To my surprised, I found out that Starbucks store was from Seattle. I went online and search to find the location of the store. It took me a while to find it. And I was surprised that it actually located at the Pike Market. Gosh………. We were there the night before. Funny isn’t it?

So, here the tiny bit of the history.

The original Starbucks was opened in Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington, in 1971 by three partners: English teacher Jerry Baldwin, history teacher Zev Siegel, and writer Gordon Bowker. The three were inspired by Alfred Peet, whom they knew personally, to open their first store in Pike Place Market to sell high-quality coffee beans and equipment. The original Starbucks location was at 2000 Western Avenue from 1971-1976. That store then moved to 1912 Pike Place; it is still open. During their first year of operation, they purchased green coffee beans from Peet's, then began buying directly from growers.

History of the logo:

The logo is an image of a "twin-tailed siren" (the siren of Greek mythology).[39] The logo has been significantly streamlined over the years. In the first version, which gave the impression of an authentic 15th century European woodcut, the Starbucks siren was topless and had a fully-visible double fish tail. The image also had a rough visual texture. In the second version, which was used from 1987-92, her breasts were covered by her flowing hair, but her navel was still visible, and the fish tail was cropped slightly. In the current version, used since 1992, her navel and breasts are not visible at all, and only vestiges remain of the fish tails. The original "woodcut" logo can still be seen on the Starbucks store in Seattle's Pike Place Market, and on both the House Blend and Decaf House Blend packaging.

At the beginning of September 2006 and then again in Spring 2008, Starbucks temporarily reintroduced its original brown logo on paper hot drink cups. Starbucks has stated that this was done to show the company's heritage from the Pacific Northwest and to celebrate 35 years of business. The vintage logo sparked some controversy due in part to the siren's bare breasts,[40] but the temporary switch garnered little attention from the media.

And the line is so unbelievable. They just have so much patience for a cup of coffee.

Sweet Tofu

On Saturday, September 20th 2008. I went out with Michelle for dinner. Calvin had a wedding gig that night and I don’t feel like staying home. That’s why I made plan with Michelle. I went and did my eye brows before the dinner. We suppose to meet up at 6:30 at the Japanese restaurant. I arrived at 6:20pm and waited for her and gave her a ring. No answer. Waited and waited………. And it’s already 6:40pm. Kinda worried if she got lost. I did called couple times but no answer. She called me back and told me that she on her way which she fall asleep at the massage place.

Anyways, it don’t matter. We had tempayaki. Which the person cook and do some tricks in front of us. It’s a nice dinner and we just kept on talking and did not pay much attention on the cook. We had Filet Mignon…. And it’s tender. I like it. I save some to bring it home for Calvin. I knew he love the fried rice. Sorry no photos. Too busy chatting.

After dinner, we went to a dessert place. It’s a new place. So, we order something cute and I have to show you guys.

It’s sweet tofu. (tofu with sugar water). It’s pretty interesting to me where they put it in a wooden bowl. I like the taste a lot coz it don’t taste so sweet. I prefer less sugar now a days.

*I have not clean my desk yet which I’m leaving my current company in a week*

During that time, Zhi Shu meets new rivals who wish to outdo him and Xiang Qin makes four new friends, and one of them likes her and wishes to replace Zhi Shu.

Special Dessert

On Last Sunday, Calvin & I went to a dessert place which they just open not long ago but never have a chance to try it. It kinda pathetic that day, both of us just don’t feel like going home and we just drove everywhere. We don’t want to go to the mall either and we can’t watch movie coz we have dinner appointment with friend. And Calvin gave a good idea to have a dessert after Costco.

When we first went in the dessert, I saw everyone having an ice-cream. In my mind, it must be good. What surprised me is that, we get to create our own ice-cream we want. So, both of us got a cup of ourselves. And Calvin told me to fill it up as we thought it will base on one price.

Ha ha ha………… Calvin goes crazy. He put so much stuff in his cup. Me just chocolate rice. That’s my favorite on the ice cream. Nothing else! As we get nearer to the cashier, my eye wide open and turn around and look at Calvin. He still was scooping more candies. And I whisper to his ear about how they charge us. He was like…….. OHHHHH!!!!! Then he asked me to look for place and he pay for it.

When he finally seated, he told me it cost USD12.00 for both of us. I was like WOW!
Believe or not, we did not finish it. That’s what happened when we got greedy. It’s okay! We learn from the experience. Next time we’re knows better.

Mine
Calvin

Something to remember and I hanged it on my photo frame at home. I’m so excited about the whole thing. I got to experience the dress which I totally have a hard time breathing.
