Pier 39 with Henry

Sunday (11/09/2008), It’s was Henry first visit to San Francisco city. Supposedly to go to Golden Gate Bridge but we caught in a bad traffic at the city due to the car parade. Then we decided to change since we stuck at the Union Square. We decided to look for parking and take the cable car to get us to Fisherman Wharf. We thought it will be a great experience for Henry since his first visit here. I can see that he kinda excited when we told him we gonna ride the cable car. It was a fun ride! Emmm…….. It’s my 3rd time riding the Cable Car. Sorry, forgot to takes a picture of us.

As we arrived to Fisherman Wharf, we decided to walk to the pier 39 where we can see more stuffs. On the way, Calvin and Henry bought a stinky Pizza. He he he…….. YUMMY! I did not get a bite coz I wanted something else. By the way, I don’t want my mouth to smell stinky all day long. Just kidding!

Then we saw this horse carriage. It’s available to ride it. I’ve been wanted to ride it since day one but I don’t have the patience to wait. This time, I got the chance and I don’t have to wait in line. Hoop we go!

The ride was fun. I really enjoyed it very much. I felt like a princess. Maybe I watch too much fairy tales when I’m young. I wanted a horse carriage for my dream wedding and did some research on that. As Calvin always said, I can’t always get what I want in reality. Anyhow, who cares now. I get to experience the ride. And everyone is taking the photos when we riding it. And I told Henry, we like a superstar. And he told me, not us… but the horse. We’re just the extra. Hilarious! We picked the 25 minutes ride which cost USD50.00. Worth the ride to me.

Then, Calvin and I bought Henry to watch the Sea Lions. Everyone have to see it if you come to pier 39. I found it special. I never get to understand how the Sea Lions come all the way to this tourist spot. It’s amazing. Calvin and I will always stop by and have a look everything we’re here. There made so much noises but I enjoy watching them.

And then we stop by for a quick shot with the Alcatraz.

We walked around and check out some stores. Weather was great. Mostly sunny and we do enjoy the afternoon walk. And me on the other hand, got a little bit hungry and wanted the crab chowder. YUM YUM!

The Crab Chowder is the best. I really love it. You can find a big piece of crab meat. We just have a small bowl of it and we were so full. We have nothing but the chowder. Oh… and also bread and garlic fried. It’s really filling. Then we realize we been spent most our time at the pier 39 and Henry wanted to do some shopping. And we quickly head off and wait for the cable car. What a long wait I have to says.

When we reached Union Square, what else can we do but SHOP! He he he…… It’s my heaven! As usually Calvin my love, bought something for me. He just grabbed it and paid. I felt happy but thankful and blessed.

We can’t end out day without a good NAKED PRAWNS! This is restaurant is our favorite. We always bring everyone to this place. IT’ S SOOOOOOO GOOOODDDD.

Check out the NAKED PRAWNS! THAI SPICE…… emm……….. I’m craving for it AGAIN after seeing this photo.

Kindergarten’s Memories.

Remember my sister send me a package last month, I guess. I found my kindergarten photo on it and I kept on giggling about it to see how small am I. I showed Calvin and I asked him to look for me. He he he…. He can’t even recognize me. When I pointed at it, he said I’m so skinny that I’ve not enough food. So funny!

I can’t really remember much on that time. All I remember I always cried when I always waited for my parents to pick me up after school. I’m always the last one. I hate it! I suppose to get used to it since my parents always came late but the problem is that they always scared me by saying. I’m not going to pick you up if you’re naughty. That’s why I always ended up crying. Emm…. What else? I remember we always went behind the church to play. I can’t remember what the games name but I know how it played. You pick few friends to be a tiger (facing back at us). All of us will say out loud and said “Tiger, tiger, what time is it now?” And the tiger will says any number as long as it’s in the clock. Example 5 o’clock. And we will 5 steps forward to them.
And we will repeat till the Tiger says, it’s time to eat you. And we will run as fast as we can to our nest. I know it sound silly but it is really fun. I always make sure I’m always at the back of my friends so I can be closer to the nest. LOL! No one ever notice that. And the other game that I can remember is the chicken and the wolf. That’s fun too.

Oh, I remember our principal is very strict. We always get punished if we pronounce it wrong. Example, Ayam. We have to pronounce it A – aaaaaa Y.A.M – yam = Ayam. Hahahahhahahahah………….. FUNNY!

Alright People. Enjoy the photo below.

Anyone want Pho??

Some of you might not know what is Pho? Pho is a Vietnamese noodle soup with sliced rare beef and well done beef brisket. It’s really good especially when the weather is cold. Emm….. Some of them put Hoisen sause into the soup. To me, I like it the way it is. But I dip hot sauce when I eat it which tasted better. Sometimes it reminded me of the Soto daging (Malaysian noodle soup). Well, it taste totally different but I really miss a lot of Malaysian food.

There a behind stories the Pho between Calvin and I. I find it very funny. The first time I came to the States, I don’t know anything but a baby who just learn how to craw. I remember when it was my 2nd day here. Calvin bought me to have lunch and told me, it’s the best noodle in San Francisco and also very popular. Of course, I got all excited. I first thought must be a nice restaurant, right. And he told me, wear something casual. I was like HUH?? All blur. He claimed that, it’s the bay area thingy where every wear casual. No doubt on that. Everyone wear casual here and they seem pretty relax and comfortable on what they wearing. Anyhow, when I reached the place. I kinda disappointed. In my mind I talked to myself “what kind of place is this”? It just near where we lived on that time and he told me it’s the best place ever. I don’t dare to said anything coz I’m new. As I stayed longer, I found out. Calvin actually fooled me about Pho. It’s not the very best noodle in San Francisco. And the restaurant is not the best of the best. It’s just a normal restaurant.

Well, of course there good Pho here. Pho is pretty cheap and reasonable price. There have beef, chicken and seafood pho. I usually order the beef Pho which that’s the most popular one.

Halloween Get Together

After went out with Michelle that night. I went home to meet up with Calvin as we have another plan that night. I invited Michelle to join me that night but she claimed that she kinda tired and need to go home. Calvin went out for a happy hour with his friend who just came from Taiwan.

So, went home and waited for Calvin to get ready. Picked up his friend and went to our friend’s house to hang out while we think where we wanna do. Guess what?? We ended up staying at my friend’s house the whole night. We suppose to hit the club but I guess, all of us tired. Beside it’s raining and we just don’t feel like getting wet. It just a Halloween and we can celebrate any where we want as long as you have a good company. Oh… Save $$$ too.

I had fun that night and we just can’t stop laughing all night. We ended playing dirty mind. And our punishment is to do hula hoop. Ha ha ha……………………. FUNNY isn’t it. That’s the point. We just want to see funny move. Over roll, we all had a blast even though it’s a mellow Halloween.

Halloween Trilogy

Last Friday was the Halloween night. Everyone get to dress up and can be whatever we always wanted. Weather kinda not what we expected this year. Storm came early this week which is good for the California as we really need water supply. And Bad because the kids have a hard time to go for the trick or treat.

Anyhow, Michelle invited me to watch a play at Ohlone College. Of course, I went to experience it with my costume. LOL! This year, I dress up as the “Sexy Sailor”. I just grab anything that fit me at the store. How pathetic am I. Sometimes, I hate being so petite. AArrrggghhhh…………..

Before we went in to the theatre, we manage to takes some photos.

OH…… We are not allowed to take any photos or recording device during the production. They have four different plays that night.

1) “The Canterville Ghost” by Oscar Wilde. (The Countryside England, 1925)
2) “The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allan Poe. (Venice, Italy in 1750)
3) “Melvin the Magician”
(Now, but going nowhere…)
4) “The Mark of the Beast” by Rudyard Kipling (India 1940)

All of them are very interesting. Absolutely going back again if I have the chance.
