Small Group - Day # 2

After having a yummy dinner at home, I had to rush to a small group which I had promised a friend that I will attend. I’m felt tired and needed a sleep due to a jetlag problem. My time is all fucked up. Forces I to stay awake during day time and it did go well but when it comes to 7pm. Man….. It’s torturing!

Calvin came along with me and I’m happy that he can experience part of my life. At least he can see the different between here and Malaysia. Different indeed! In Malaysia, they have this ice breaker and worship before they had discussion. As for here, we don’t have ice breaker or worship. Of course we get to mingle around. Life style in Silicon Valley is way different from where I came from. My hometown is more relaxing and everywhere you go just less than 30 mins. That’s mean, you get more sleep and you don’t have to rush to work unless you drunk the night before.

Oh yes….. Usually every one of them will bring a dish on whatever. It’s like a refreshment right after the fellowship. But here, we rotate who bring what on that week. So…. It’s different! Malaysia one more like a mini party to me as there so many food and you got so full that night. I prefer light as we here just goes for snack instead a heavy stuffs.

That’s all I can think of for today.

Louisiana Night!

August 2nd which fall on Sunday; Calvin decided to take me to a nice Louisiana cuisine which I been craving for a long time. YES! This restaurant served real GOOD food and I LOVE it a lot. They have the BEST Jambalaya which I never stop ordering it. They have other choices and high recommended to try everything on the menu. The thing with me is that, I always order the same thing in the same restaurant when I falling in love with the dish I like.

I can say I go back to the same restaurants when I’m craving for something. Example I’m craving for Jambalaya and I will want to go to Nola’s. I’m not sure what the special occasion on that day that Calvin wants to pamper me with my favorite Jambalaya. I invited Elaine and Chris to come along as I know they never went there before and wanted them to try it.

Shall we begin with the photos?

This caught my attention.

Before I show you the next photos. Let me tell you a little bit about Jambalaya. I'm not sure when I'm going to talk about this again but I just don't want to miss it.

Jambalaya originating in the American South-on the banks of Louisiana's bayous-the quaintly named jambalaya (possibly derived from the Spanish jamon, meaning ham, or its French equivalent, jambon) is a fusion of European, African, and American influences dating from the late 18th century.
Traditionally made in one pot with meats, vegetables, and rice, the method of including the rice during cooking often denotes a particular ancestry.
The African jambalaya calls for gently cooking of meats, chicken, and sausage, along with vegetables and tomatoes (often referred to as "red jambalaya"). Seafood features frequently. The rice and chicken broth are then added in equal proportions and simmered for an hour.
The Louisiana "Cajun" version of jambalaya, which has its roots in French provincial cooking and bears more than a passing resemblance to Spanish paella, requires a cast-iron pot to first brown all the meats - the bits stuck to the bottom create the dish brown color. The "trinity" of onions, green bell peppers, and celery are sauteed in oil. The meat is returned to the pot with chicken broth and seasonings and simmered for an hour. After coming back to a boil, the rice is added to steam and soak up with juices.

Hope you learn a lot from it. Now, lets back to the photos.

Sonia’s Bachelorette Party

August 1st, I attending Sonia’s bachelorette party which I suppose to skip coz I’m busy with something else and I don’t want to be too tired before that. So, I decided to go for the pussycat doll’s dance and skip the rest for the night. Yeah… I’m such a boring person now. I used to be energizes and party all night even thou there something I have to do the next day. Not the case now.

I had so much fun during the dance. It really shows me how much I miss the girl’s time. The dance move is kinda hard for me. Everything in a fast pace. Guess, that’s how pussycat doll dance, ya? It’s a sexy move dance and can’t wait to show my sexy ass off in the club. Saving the best for the wild night! I really encourage you guys to go out there and try it. It’s another way of exercising.

Charlotte’s Bay Area Visit

July 31st, we did a small gathering for Charlotte as she came back for a vacation. We went to an Italian restaurant as we know it’s going to be a large group. So, Calvin came up with family style meals. No complain and we all love the food in the restaurant. I can’t really remember what we ordered but we did have a great time together and had a stupid conversation that kept me laughing the whole entire night. I need that a lot.

As we ready for a dessert, I came up with an idea saying it was Charlotte’s birthday. I thought it was fun seeing someone celebrate a birthday when it wasn’t even the day of it. Hey….. At least we got a free dessert for her. She had all by herself while us had to share due to our FULL tummy. And we don’t even want to miss the dessert in the same time. What so disappointed is that, they sold out they most popular tiramisu. Ai……………….. Thinking about it make me craving for it now. I should try to make a tiramisu as my next project.

Already, let the photos speak for you, shall we?
